The visitors snapped three points with strikes from Thoi Singh, Sunil Chhetri and a Dhanachandra Singh's own goal sandwiched in between...Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.
|TOP: John Menyongar
The Liberian was classy as he dominated the midfield. After a slow start, he took complete control of the proceedings and dictated the game. One of the most skillful midfielders in the I-League, Menyongar often switched plays and linked well the attacking players.
|FLOP: Dhanachandra Singh
He was deployed as a central defender surprisingly. The former Air India full back looked clueless in the second half as was often caught out of position. The own-goal was sheer bad luck but the third goal scored by Sunil Chhetri was because of him wasting too much time on the ball.
