Another Chhetri brace helped Bengaluru to a comfortable win over the reigning champions...Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.
|TOP: SUNIL CHHETRI
The skipper grabbed himself a brace as he led his team to a 3-0 win against Churchill Brothers. He was kept quiet in the first half, but made the difference after the break with his excellent positioning as he was at the right place at the right time on both occasions to convert. His performance earned him the man of the match award. The double takes him back to the top of the individual goal scoring charts in the I-League.
|FLOP: BALWANT SINGH
The Churchill Brothers striker had an evening to forget as he rarely got into the thick of things. The center half pairing of John Johnson and Curtis Osano proved too much for the Indian striker to handle as he was outmuscled for much of the game. He tried to shift out wide at times to make an impact but failed to stamp any sort of authority in this game.
