The Goan coach was livid with his side’s display at the Bangalore Football Stadium where they came second best to the home team…
Churchill Brothers find themselves at the bottom of the table following a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bengaluru FC. They have six matches until the end of the season to avoid the drop.
Coach Mariano Dias stated that their organization in the second half was poor and as a result, they allowed the hosts to gain control of the tie.
“We did not put enough in the game. We were not even at our fifty percent. We allowed Bengaluru to play and they were all over us and that is how they scored. The organization was very poor. I did not think we would lose the game 3-0,” he said.
At the end of the first half, no goals were scored. However after the break, Bengaluru FC cut loose as Sunil Chhetri scored a brace with Robin Singh also getting on the scoresheet.
“I think we lost confidence in the second half and were not organized defensively. We lost our concentration and we were not organized defensively,” Dias explained. On being asked whether Robin Singh’s introduction towards the end of the first half in place of Beikhekhei Beingaichho changed the course of the game, Dias said, “As I told, we allowed them to play. We allowed them to take control of the whole match. We allowed them to score. All the three goals came in the second half.”
