Top and Flop: Dempo SC 4-0 Sporting Clube de Goa

Tolgay Ozbey wrecked havoc as his brace demolished the Flaming Oranje...
Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

The Australian forward was involved in three of the four goals scored by Dempo on a night where the Golden Eagles were at their attacking best. He scored his first from the spot after being brought down inside the box. It was his flicked pass to Beto that initiated the third goal for Dempo which was scored by Clifford Miranda. He rounded off his spectacular display by scoring Dempo’s fourth brilliantly controlling Miranda's pass to round off the keeper to slot into an empty net. He received a standing ovation from the assembled supporters when he was taken off in the dying minutes of the game.

FLOP: Deepak Devrani

It wasn't surprising as to why he was the first to be substituted after Sporting went four goals down. It seems the former Pailan Arrows defender forgot his defending skills altogether. His lack of coordination and positional sense allowed Tolgay Ozbey and Beto to wreck havoc.
