thumbnail Hello,

Find out who topped and who flopped in the Kolkata Derby which ended all level between arch rivals Mohun Bagan and East Bengal...

Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

TOP: Katsumi Yusa

Karim Bencherifa's gamble of playing Katsumi Yusa alongside Denson Devadas in midfield paid off handsomely as the Japanese orchestrated most of Mohun Bagan's moves and was behind the rampant display in the first half. Great on the ball the untiring display also extended to stealing the ball from the opposition at every given opportunity.

FLOP: Cavin Lobo

Although the coach, Armando Colaco believed that Lobo had a good game but the fact was that the midfielder was almost non existent during the match. He was often caught in possession and was guilty of several missed passes in midfield which did his team no favours.
