Goal takes a look at the top and flop as Mohammedan Sporting finally bagged a win after a four match losing streak...Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.
|TOP: Josimar da Silva Martins
The Brazilian striker was in top form in the match scoring one and also winning a penalty for his side. Besides his sterling work up front it was his link up play that was for all to see. In the buildup to the second goal which he eventually finished, it was Josimar whose brilliant chested lay off had started the move. He dominated both the Sporting centre backs with his presence.
|FLOP: Victorino Fernandes
The Sporting Clube de Goa striker who started instead of Boima Karpeh failed to do justice to the start in spite of getting in promising positions. He often shot wide and even when he did test the goal keeper, the weak efforts failed to trouble him.
