The Goan giants continued their good form from the Federation Cup as they moved up five places in the standings...Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.
|TOP: HAROON AMIRI
The Afghanistan international earned praise from coach Arthur Papas after the match for his defensive display in the match which didn't allow Rangdajied United to take advantage of their superior ball possession in the second half. Amiri also doubled the lead for Dempo at the stroke of half time, to give his side a cushion before changing ends.
|FLOP: YOHEI IWASAKI
The Japanese looked to threaten the Goan side's defense on a couple of occasions but it was the frustration that got the better of him. He lost patience on his team-mates and also had a spat with his coach Santosh Kashyap. Had he been more composed, Rangdajied could have garnered more from the game.
