Santosh Kashyap: We won't get points if we don't score

The coach of the north eastern side reflects on his side 2-0 loss to Dempo SC and how he can look forward to fight a battle of survival in the league...

Rangdajied United crashed to yet another defeat, this time at the hands of a Dempo SC with the scoreboard reading 2-0 as their torturous I-League campaign hit a new low. Both goals came in the first half and this saw them clinging at the bottom of the table with a meager 12 points having played 3 games more than Mohammedan Sporting who are a place above them.

Coach Santosh Kashyap lamented at his team for not taking their chances and making life difficult for them in the battle for survival.

"I think we have been playing well, even the last game (against Churchill Brothers), although our opponents had a lot of foreigners. If we are not converting our chances (then) we will not get points, that is the main fact. We conceded a goal today and then we fought and always chased the game. It becomes very difficult.”

The injured Edmar Figueria who is on his way out of the club was missing from the line-up with Kim Yong as Kashyap made four changes from the team that lost against Churchill Brothers.

"Edmar is out because of a groin injury and Kim also suffered from food poisoning. We started with good strikers but they lack of experience and it will take time. Edmar has already been released; he was suffering from groin injury throughout.  He is a talented player but just couldn’t cope up.”

Ranti Martins however is on his way to the team to bolster their attacking options and Kashyap spoke about wanting to develop an understanding between him and Kim.

"Hope he will get support. Kim is also doing well, you can see for yourself. We will see how they can best combine and start scoring goals.”

Rangdajied are fighting a battle to survive the axe and things don't look great as far the table is concerned.

"I'm still confident the way we are playing and we are definitely play well. It's a question of one win. Now we have an advantage of four home games. So I think we will perform better and get all positive results and save relegation.”
