Team of the Federation Cup: Churchill and Sporting players fill out five places in the side

Goal lists down the best performers in the 35th edition of the Federation Cup...
Churchill Brothers defeated Sporting Clube de Goa 3-1 in the final on Saturday to win their first ever Federation Cup title.

Shilton Paul's heroics in the group stage helped Mohun Bagan finish unbeaten in a pool that had four I-League teams clubbed together. The Mariners conceded only a single goal in the group stages and that epitomizes the contrbution of Shilton.

In our three-man defense, Rino Anto, the Bengaluru FC right-back made the cut over Denzil Franco especially with the former playing a crucial role in his team's attack. Haroon Amiri, the new recruit of Dempo takes guard at the heart of the defense. Though he did concede a penalty in the semi-final, he made amends by bombing forward to score at the other end. Dempo have conceded a lot of goals in the I-League and Amiri's presence at the back saw them only give away only a single goal in the group stages. Despite failing to keep a single clean-sheet throughout the tournament, Raju Yumnam gets the reward for his skills in overlapping and not letting the opposition wingers get past him.

Beevan D'Mello, the Sporting Clube de Goa winger was chosen on the right flank, while Mohun Bagan's elegant midfielder Yusa Katsumi on the left. Abdelhamid Shabana of Churchill Brothers and Roberto Da Silva of Dempo take responsibility in the middle of the pitch.

Upfront we have three footballers who have all scored four goals each for their sides and are the joint highest scorers of the tounament. Quite surprisingly, two of them are Indians, with Shillong Lajong striker Cornell Glen being the only exception. Balwant Singh of Churchill Brothers and Victorino Fernandes of Sporting Clube de Goa win the other two places.
