The Mumbai Tigers duo are to pen a contract with the north eastern outfit but will not play in the Federation Cup…
Rangdajied United are close to signing two players, namely winger Steven Dias and goalkeeper Rehnesh TP, from Mumbai Tigers after the latter chose not ply its trade in the I-League second division.
Steven Dias plied his trade for Churchill Brothers last season and helped them win the league title. Thereafter he preferred a move back home to Mumbai by signing for Tigers, who were then said to play in the I-League before their management decided not to due to unavoidable circumstances.
With Subrata Paul joining Danish out Vestsjaelland, the north eastern side took no time to rope in Rehnesh who played for ONGC last term under the tutelage of Santosh Kashyap who now coaches Rangdajied United. It must be remembered that Rangdajied were in the running to sign Rehnesh in the summer but the custodian preferred a move to Mumbai Tigers.
“The duo are set to join us. Steven will start training with us from February 1st. Rehnesh is also a top goalkeeper and it is good to work with him. But they won’t play in the Federation Cup as the time is ver less to get them registered,” said Kashyap.
Sushant Matthew who joined Rangdajied a few days earlier will also not make it into their Federation Cup squad but has been training with the squad though.
