The Dutch coach heaped praise on the skipper of the Kolkata outfit as he scored two crucial goals…
Pune FC have only picked up five points in their last six matches and the 3-1 defeat to Mohun Bagan over the weekend was another testament of the same.
Odafa Okolie scored a brace and Ram Malik impressed and was rewarded with a goal in the second half. Pune FC paid the price for not taking their chances and their defense was torn to pieces each time Malik made a surge forward.
“Odafa is very good striker. I don't know why they were so behind in the league table. Ram is a good player. Also we had Lalrempuia, who is 17 years old,” said Pune FC coach Mike Snoei.
He highlighted that the goal scored by Ram Malik killed off the game and that James Meyer should have converted the chance which came his way when the opposition only had a goal’s lead.
“The second goal was the turning point. We also had chances but Meyer missed an easy one. Mohun Bagan was not lucky. They fought hard and the public was behind them. They did a good job. They fought for every meter. We missed too many chances and we made two big mistakes at the back."
The two coaches were involved in a verbal spat throughout the game after having lambasted each other when the two teams met earlier this year.
"Karim hates to lose and I also hate to lose."
