thumbnail Hello,

Sunil Chhetri was the top of the match while Ashok Singh flopped in goal as Mohammedan were defeated at home by Bengaluru FC...

Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

TOP: SUNIL CHHETRI

Sunil Chhetri continued his goalscoring form as he struck yet another brace to cement his team's position at the top as Bengaluru FC beat Mohammedan Sporting 3-2. His first strike was a wonder goal as he smashed a volley into the top corner from just outside the box, after almost a training ground corner routine leaving the Black and Whites stunned. His second was a poacher's goal as he pounced on the loose ball after the goalkeeper missed the ball altogether.

FLOP: ASHOK SINGH

Although his counterpart Pawan Kumar had committed a costly blunder on the other end too, the decisive goal was scored by Chhetri due to the Mohammedan goalkeeper's mistake. Chhetri was afforded the chance as he failed to collect a regulation corner by coming off his line.
