Top and Flop: Mohun Bagan 0-0 Mohammedan Sporting

After a stalemate where both teams squandered chances galore, Goal had the unenviable job of figuring out a top and flop...
Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

Ably supported by his centre-back partner, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, Sobrosa was a rock at the back for the Mohammedan defense which had to contend with the strength and guile of Odafa Okolie. He not only kept the burly Nigerian quiet but also contended with the pacey Eric Muranda with ease too.

The striker who had a lean patch with the side he was facing last year had turned up for the Black and Whites this season but it seems he is still to regain his lethal form he showed at East Bengal. Being deployed as the lone striker, Tolgay was a mass of nerves as he roamed around without any purpose. His touches let him down and failed to create any goalscoring chance.
