Top and Flop: Salgaocar FC 1-2 Bengaluru FC

It was an intense and fiercely contested match, both on and off the field.
Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

The former Salgaocar FC custodian denied his previous club of a last ditch equaliser in injury time by saving Darryl Duffy's penalty, thereby keeping the Scottish striker waiting for his 100th career goal. The Bengaluru FC goalkeeper was on hand to intercept a couple of crosses in his area and generally commanded the penalty box except for the goal for which no blame was attached to him.

Gnakpa wasn't at his best and failed to combine with his team's midfielders. He wouldn't go into 50-50 challenges to win the ball fearing a shoulder injury as he is carrying a knock. Failed to test the opposition goalkeeper as well and was rightly hauled off by Derrick Pereira ten minutes after the break.
