thumbnail Hello,

The coach of the north eastern outfit believes that the team is close to hitting their best form…

Rangdajied United and Shillong Lajong played out a 1-1 draw in the first ever Shillong derby in the history of I-League.

Santosh Kashyap, the Rangdajied coach, believes that his side will keep trying until they get a win and praised his boys fir displaying attacking football

“Lajong is doing well and we are a new team. As a new team, if you see the records, they (Lajong) lost by 10 goals, 5 goals, and compared to that, we are holding so much better and attacking. I'm very happy with the way we played and it's the way football should be played. They played excellent and we also played excellently. It's a win-win situation for everyone. We try to get the win but it's not easy because all the teams are doing to so well. The competition is so high in this league compared to the last three edition of the I-League. So, we'll keep on trying until we get the win.”

Gouramangi Moirangthem, Subrata Paul, Tomba Singh and Manandeep Singh were four new faces in their line-up after being signed on-loan from IMG-Reliance. Kashyap praised the performance of the new players inducted and believes that the combination play will only improve in the coming matches.

“Obviously, he did excellent Subrata, otherwise we could have conceded two-or-three goals. Gouramangi did excellent. Tomba was not fully fit I feel but with his experience he handled 70 minutes and did his job. So definitely once they become more fit things will get better. It was the first match they are playing with the new team and made a difference. I'm happy with the way we played and we'll definitely improve in our next match's performance. We have definitely been boosted with these experienced players.”

“In their first match they have combined after just two days of practice and in the future matches, it will be better and the win is very close I feel.”

Rangdajied have lead in the two games but have given away goals thereafter which has allowed the opposition to get back into the tie.

“Football is a game in which you can concede in the last minute also. So they are also attacking so well in the last minutes we also get chances. It happens."
