Marcos Falopa, the Brazilian coach of East Bengal, seems will be walking on a tightrope from now until the end of his coaching reign over the eight-time Federation Cup winners.
It has been confirmed through official channels that East Bengal plan to stick with Falopa up until the very end of this season, though, a posse of club officials would rather get rid of him right now.
Former India coach and Dempo SC primer, Armano Colaco, was expected to be given the job, after the ousting of Falopa, so much so that people expected the Goan to be in the hot-seat by the time East Bengal geared-up to face their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan in the Kolkata derby on 24th November.
“All we can say is that as of now, we have our faith in Falopa,” elucidated East Bengal football secretary, Santosh Bhattacharya, after the Executive committee grilling on Saturday.
Explaining the situation aptly, a source privy to the matter explained to The Telegraph, “You never know what might happen tomorrow. But one thing is for sure, the present coach is certainly under the scanner.”
