Join Goal in saluting another player worthy of recognition in the 1-1 draw between Sporting Clube de Goa and East Bengal...Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.
|TOP: ROWLLIN BORGES
The 21-year-old did well to hold on to the ball and spread passes to his team-mates, that too with the absense of Ogba Kalu Nnanna and Arturo Novarro Garcia in the midfield. The Goan showed a lot of maturity and character in performing his role. Borges was denied a goal by the rival goalkeeper, but did well to send in teasing crosses in the opponent's box.
| FLOP: JAMES MOGA
The South Sudanese striker failed to create space for himself against his former side. Three minutes into the second half and Moga, in a moment of madness, attempted to handle the ball inside the box to put in Cavin Lobo’s cross. Luckily for him, there was no contact else he could have been booked. He also fell prey to Sporting's off-side trap on numerous occasions.
