Collin Abranches denies making a racial remark

The Mohammedan Sporting left back has quashed the allegations leveled against him by Sporting Clube de Goa coach…

Collin Abranches has brushed aside claims of Sporting Clube de Goa coach Oscar Bruzon that he referred to Boima Karpeh as a “nigger” or “black.”

“Collin Abranches was the one - three times he was calling Jerry a "nigger" and we told the referee [Santhosh Kumar], but he (referee) didn't listen to that,” Bruzon told the reporters after the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Mohammedan Sporting on Sunday.

However, the former Air India full back acknowledged that there was indeed an altercation between Karpeh and himself but claimed that nowhere did he passed a racial remark.

“I have never passed a racial remark to Boima. We had a heated moment where both of us were exchanging words with each other about a tackle but never did I pass any racial comment,” he said.

He further elaborated stating, “I have been a strong believer in Fair Play and in my career of five years I have never been booked or shown a red card. It just shows how much I am concerned about my behaviour on the pitch.”
