Shillong Lajong's dismal form at home continued as the north eastern outfit side conceded a late goal to see them miss out on picking full points. In the five home games so far, they have lost two and shared the points on three occasions.
Coach Thangboi Singto was disappointed that his side couldn’t hold on until the end and viewed the result as a case of two points dropped.
"Definitely before starting the match losing Glen (Cornell) was a big setback, but again as a team you miss key players. However credit to other players that after conceding the first goal very early, it generally becomes very difficult for a team to comeback. The players came in strong and we got the goal. Yes, I am a bit disappointed that out of the three points, we got only one" he said.
Cornell Glen, who has been the star performer for the Reds from Shillong with five goals in the I-League, shall undergo a scan to determine the extent of his injury.
"It's too early to say about his injury as he has gone for a MRI scan. I think it is a thigh strain but we will get to know exactly what happened soon,” he said.
The coach echoed to the fans to back the team during their poor spell and is confident of his side's comeback in the next few games.
"I can understand that the fans want the team to win but we as a team also want to win and give our best. We are still waiting for our first win. It was coming but we lacked focus towards the end."
"In the next match (against Mohammedan Sportng) we will work harder and come back stronger," he concluded.
