Top and Flop: Bengaluru FC 3-1 Dempo SC

A poor performance by the Goan side saw them concede early goals and eventually fail to grab a single point from the game...

Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

TOP: Sean Rooney

The Australian scored in each half to add to Dempo’s poor start to the season as his side registered a 3-1 victory. The former Salgaocar FC striker made the most of the lack of defensive coordination amongst the Dempo back-line who failed to track his runs on most occasions.

FLOP: Debabrata Roy

Debabrata Roy and Simon Colosimo came with their worst performances against Bengaluru FC in the midweek. The left back was guilty of not keeping pace with Beikhokhei Beingacchio on the right as he allowed him to make countless crosses. His positioning was pathetic so to say and it was only due to lack of options on the bench for Dempo that Debabrata lasted for the entire game without being substituted.
