The former Mahindra United left back believes that his side have it in them to beat their north eastern opponents in Shillong...
After a poor start to the season, Mohammedan Sporting currently sit at the bottom of the I-League table. With three losses from as many games, the Kolkata outfit need to get their act together soon as they gear up for the Rangdajied United challenge this weekend. It will be a special game for the 21-year old as he shall come up against Santosh Kashyap, who was his coach at Air India.
"Our team has not started the season in a proper manner, but it’s just three games gone and a win (against Rangdajied United) will get us right back on track,” said Collin Abranches.
“The strategy for the next game is to win the game anyhow and to get full three points,” he added.
The Mohammedan Sporting left-back stated that their target at the start of the season was to win the title after having truimphed at the Durand Cup.
“Definitely our main aim is to win the league. But if not we are aiming for the top five spot,” he said.
Abranches, who first plied his trade at Mahindra United before agreeing a switch to Air India and Salgaocar FC thereafter, is keen on impressing the national coach Wim Koevermans as he aims to seal a berth in the India squad.
“My main aim is to get into the Indian national team. I want to work hard and do everything I can for Mohammedan Sporting,” he concluded.
