Ashley Westwood: Robin Singh will only get better

The Bengaluru FC coach was proud of his team's showing as they maintained their strong start to the I-League...
Bengaluru FC notched up yet another convincing win against struggling Mohammedan Sporting as they beat the Kolkata side 2-1 at home.

Ashley Westwood, the Bengaluru FC coach, stated that his side took the Mohammedan challenge seriously despite the opponents not being in the best of form this term.

"It was a good win. But like I said earlier, we weren't taking Mohammedan lightly. They are a side that will be winning more games than losing."

When queried as to why India captain Sunil Chhetri was relegated to the bench and only got a chance to play in the second half, Westwood claimed that it was a tactical ploy.
"The decision to play Chhetri in the second half was simply tactical. We have played two games in four days and we wanted to throw in some fresh legs."

He was also confident that striker Robin Singh would improve as the season goes along given that the striker was involved in a couple of attacks after coming on.
"Robin did have an impact and over time, he will only get better. He's coming on for 25-to-30 minutes and not 5-or-10."

However the Englishman did not hide his disappointment in the manner in which his side conceded the goal. "I am disappointed with the goal we conceded given how much I prefer clean sheets."
