Top and Flop: Salgaocar FC 1-1 Dempo SC

It was a game of two halves as Jeje Lalpekhlua scored the second half equaliser for Dempo after Salgaocar's Darryl Duffy had given his side the lead in the first half...
Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

The Mizoram striker scored the crucial equaliser for the Goan outfit in the 81st minute. He combined well with Beto to penetrate the Salgaocar FC box, using sheer physical force to tear through the rival defense. Jeje forced Karanjit Singh to make a save off from a powerful left-footed shot. He was involved in all the threatening attacks launched by Dempo SC in the second half.

The Salgaocar left-back was found wanting on several occasions as he failed to track the runs of Jeje Lalepkhlua. He should have done better in order to avoid the opposition scoring the equaliser. He never really contributed to the side's attack. He looks to be the weak link in the Salgaocar defense.
