Top and Flop: Bengaluru FC 2-1 Mohammedan Sporting

Bengaluru FC saw off a better second half performance from Mohammedan Sporting to claim all three points and remain on top of the I-League table.
Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

Bengaluru FC predominantly attacked down the right flank and Beinkhokhei Beingaichho was largely responsible for that. The winger was a live wire throughout the game as he took on defenders and did not disappoint with his delivery. It was his corner kick that was headed in by John Johnson for the first goal. Later on, he beat a defender and crossed for Sean Rooney who doubled the home side's advantage. The winger worked tirelessly as usual but his two assists capped an outstanding performance.

Tolgay Ozbey's shot in the 78th minute led to the corner from which Mohammedan Sporting pulled one goal back but apart from that bit of action, the Australian was largely disappointing. His shooting was off the mark, blazing over a free-kick in a promising position and dragging an effort from just outside the box well wide. The striker failed to influence the game.
