thumbnail Hello,

The Rangdajied United coach praised his boys for their efforts and stressed that if they continue to develop, the victories are not far away.

Rangdajied United played out a 1-1 draw against Churchill Brothers in an I-League round four match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong.

Santosh Kashyap praised the effort of his team in securing a draw against the defending champions.

"I think this was a great performance for a young and new team like us. We had a draw against the champions, who have experienced players. Not only me, everyone praised the way attacked and defended. Not unlucky I can say, because in football you often concede due to silly mistakes, but in the second half the goalkeeper was excellent," said Kashyap.

The former ONGC manager mentioned that the two teams had the chance to win three points as they were goal scoring opportunities for either side.

"I think both the teams had their chances. They had hit the post and we also hit the post. It was a good game of football. And this is a good thing for the fans also who came to watch the game. It is the most important thing. I am happy with the result," he stated.

The coach brought on his attacking spearhead Edmar Figueira for only thirty odd minutes after the break.

"He is not yet fully match fit. That's why I kept him on the bench. He will improve with time," Kashyap sounded optimistic.

Rangdajied United is yet to notch up their first victory in the I-League and they next face the Mohammedan Sporting challenge. Kashyap however was happy with the way the team has progressed with each matchday.

"Result is another thing. For now, I am happy with the way the boys of this new team are improving. Goals and victories will follow. Everyone is putting his best effort for the team. If we keep on developing understanding in this way, we will end the season in a much better position," he opined.

"I also want to thank the crowd for coming in to support their team in large numbers. I think they have got their worth. In the next matches, I expect more crowd to come," he concluded.
