Dempo SC have signed highly rated youngster Sahil Tavora - a first professional contract for the sapling from Panjim.
18 year-old Tavora, a central attacking midfielder, who has played previously for SESA football academy after rising through the Brazilian football academy, shone brightly while he played in the Goa Professional League and is said to be a highly gifted lad with qualities of desire for an attacker such as pace and strength.
Dempo agreed a transfer fee with his former club after coach Arthur Papas insisted on his arrival having watched him complete five assists and score two goals in what was a successful season for the budding talent last year.
“It’s like a dream come true, I always wanted to play for Dempo as it is my childhood club. I cannot describe how excited I am about this,” elucidated Sahil, barely able to hide his excitement and happiness at the Dempo club house, as he will be part of the I-League team that travels to Pune and Shillong respectively.
A humble Sahil thanked his parents and sibling for helping him succeed so far stating, “They have always supported me in becoming a good player, I even changed my school for better football training. I would always be thankful to my parents and my coaches.”
“Playing in the I-League is my objective and I know it is going to take a lot more hard work and commitment to get there, but it feels good to be another step closer,” concluded an optimistic Tavora.
