Top and Flop: Mumbai FC 1-1 Sporting Clube de Goa

Mumbai FC and Sporting shared honours in their opening fixture of the league.
Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

Leaving the controversy surrounding his transfer saga aside, he put in a good shift for the Goan club. Superb on the ball and excellent dribbling gave him the extra edge against Khalid Jami's men. He should have set-up his team for a lot more than he actually did but he'll improve as the season progresses.

The Mumbai FC striker was absolutely sluggish throughout the match. He squandered a few moves when he did get the ball, as the first touches were horrible. Sporting defense dealt with him very easliy, often robbing him of the ball.
