Mumbai Tigers have decided not to take part in the 2013-14 Season of I-League.

Mumbai Tigers have decided not to take part in the 2013-14 I-League season due to unavoidable circumstances. The club have requested to be involved in the 2nd Division League for the new season.

The Mumbai based club informed the All India Football Federation (AIFF) that they are not ready at the moment to participate in the first division and need more time to prepare.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) had conducted an open house in Delhi and Dubai with an aim to induct minimum of two new clubs as part of the I-League following which the Request for Proposal (RFP) was prepared for formally inviting the bids.

The Indian FA had received three bids of which JSW’s and Mumbai Tigers were cleared by the Bid Evaluation Committee, whose decision was ratified by the Emergency Committee of the AIFF in May.

The decision of Mumbai Tigers, who had recruited around 25 players for the coming season, certainly would come as a surprise for the Indian FA
