The Manipuri striker, who joined Shillong Lajong in the 2008-09 season has inked a new deal...Shillong Lajong FC have announced on Friday that Seikhohao Tuboi has extended his current contract with the club for the upcoming I-League season 2013-14.
Tuboi played a stellar role in the Reds' 2008-09 I-League second division campaign and was instrumental in guiding Shillong Lajong FC's return to the I-League in the 2009-10 season.
His developments though were cut short by a prolonged injury he suffered in the 2011-12 season, which saw the striker sitting out the 2012-13 season as well.
However, a well structured and intensive health regime from the club’s medical staff ensured that the 24-year-old regained his full fitness and will now be a part of the team in the upcoming season.
Commenting on the new deal with the Club, Tuboi reiterated his eagerness to don the colours of the club once again. “I cannot wait to get back on the field and start scoring goals again,” he said.
Tuboi has started training with the first team, and his addition will certainly add depth to the Lajong forward line.
