Salgaocar FC, who have been holding intensive trials over the past month, in order to complete their foreign quota for next season, are set to add Japanese midfielder Seiji Saito to their squad.
The midfielder last turned out for Korona Kielce SA, a top tier Polish side, before which he represented Warriors Football Club in Singapore. The Japanese has also plied his trade in Portugal and Brazil including the Sao Paulo ‘B’ side, apart from representing Kashiwa Reysol and Kawasaki Frontale in his homeland.
Saito, who has also represented Japan at the U-15 and U-18 levels, has impressed the Salgaocar hierarchy during trials at the club, and Goal understands that the Goan club is now keen to make an offer as they look to seal the signature of their second overseas player.
Chika Wali had already followed Derrick Pereira to Salgaocar from Pune FC, and if the deal for the Japanese midfielder is completed, then the Goan club would be left with only two of their foreign slots to fill.
