thumbnail Hello,

Talks with the AIFF & IMG-Reliance will not involve the issue of releasing players for the IPL-style league, but regarding IMG-Reliance's plans for Indian football in the future...

In a bid to bridge the communication gap between the three major parties involved in Indian football, namely the All India Football Federation (AIFF), IMG-Reliance and the I-league clubs, the IPFCA in a meeting in Mumbai on Tuesday decided to name a 6 member panel, for discussions with the AIFF, and IMG-Reliance.

The meeting between the three stakeholders of football in the country shall take place on Wednesday, after the IPFCA spoke to the AIFF regarding the same, and the latter was able to bring IMG-Reliance on-board for the discussion, which shall take place in Mumbai.

The six member panel shall consist of East Bengal’s Debabrata Sarkar, Mohun Bagan’s Debashish Dutta, Chirag Tanna from Pune FC, Bengaluru FC’s Mustafa Ghouse as well as Raj Gomes and Valanka Alemao, who represent Salgaocar FC and Churchill Brothers respectively, in the IPFCA.

Talks with the AIFF and its marketing partner though, will not involve the issue regarding the releasing of players for the IPL-styled league that is scheduled to be held in January 2014, as the clubs have not changed their stance on the subject and remain adamant that their players shall not take part in the competition.

They will though, want clarity regarding IMG-Reliance’s plans for Indian football in the future, and where the I-League stands in those discussions.

The IPFCA also resolved to draft a letter which would be duly sent to the AIFF, dealing with their concerns regarding the game, like enquiring on the AIFF’s stand on having the I-League as a separate entity and the distribution of all generated revenue, via the league amongst other issues.
