United SC seem to be stuck in particularly gusty doldrums. Confusion regarding the club’s future has ravaged through the squad with several key members taking the plunge out or drawing up their options.
It has been revealed that Kayne Vincent has opted to play for J-League (Japanese League) Division Two side FC Gifu after seeking a transfer from the Kolkata based I-League outfit. Sources close to player confirmed the ambiguity in which the club found themselves over their future forced him to reason out a move. Club officials though, say it was them who opted to part ways with Vincent, claiming they no longer needed his services.
Speaking to The Telegraph, team director Siddhartha Bhattacharya elucidated, "Kayne’s contract with our club had expired. So we preferred to release him.”
Meanwhile, Dutchman Eelco Schattorie, coach of the team, is close to confirming his stay despite the blues regarding the future operations of the club.
He did however praise Vincent of making the right decision and quipped, “Kayne had sent me a message recently about his new signing. He also thanked me for pushing him in the right direction.”
