Mumbai FC have often wait until the closing weeks of the transfer window before starting their signing spree. That aspect has changed for good as the club has been pro-active in the transfer market this time around.
After having re-signed Haroon Amiri and Nicholas Rodrigues from last season, they had already added Branco Cardozo from Air India and United Sikkim’s Anwar Ali.
Atul Bagdamia, Mumbai FC’s deputy vice-president, had earlier confirmed that talks with Climax Lawrence, the former Dempo SC and India skipper, were in advanced stages.
“Climax has signed with us for two years on Wednesday,” Mumbai FC manager Henry Picado told Goal.
Meanwhile Valeriano Rebello, after serving Dempo SC for nine long years where he won all the major trophies in Indian football, too has joined the Mumbai FC ranks in a year-long deal.
Goalkeeper Nidhinlal has returned to the Mumbai FC fold after spending the last year to recuperate from an injury.
“He took a year off from football and was on Ayurvedic treatment in Kerala,” Picado informed.
