Jewel Raja Shaikh's time with former I-League champions Dempo SC during season 2009-10 wasn't notable and the player was shipped off to Indian Arrows before plying his trade for Mohun Bagan for the last two seasons.
"I am so happy that I am back at Dempo. I had offers from other clubs but when Dempo called me, I decided right away," he told GOAL.
The 23-year-old, like many others was approached to by the All India Football Federation's (AIFF) marketing partners, IMG-Reliance, for their proposel IPL-style league.
"They (IMG-Reliance) had called me around a month earlier, but I like Dempo and this is where I want to be. No doubts."
The midfielder might have not played under current Dempo coach Arthur Papas, but is confident of the positive energy that the Australian brings to the club.
"[Former] coach Armando [Colaco] wanted passing football, but what coach Papas can bring is the very high level of motivation.
"I'll do my best and I want to win all trophies with Dempo this season," he concluded exuberantly.
Jewel Raja has also been named among the 30 probables by national team coach Wim Koevermans for India's international friendly against Tajikistan which is scheduled for 14 August 2013.
