Mumbai Tigers have been on a belated signing spree in the last couple of weeks, after a quiet start to the transfer window, and have now roped in Sporting Clube de Goa’s Samananda Singh and Mumbai FC’s C. Malswamkima.
Goal can reveal that the duo have signed on with the Mumbai based club on a one year contract.
Utility defender Samananda Singh, who can play as a centre-back or as a wing-back, will add some much needed strength and I-League experience to Bimal Ghosh’s side, which has lost its two star players from their division two campaign, Mohammed Rafi and N.P Pradeep, both of whom have joined the IMG-Reliance bandwagon.
The Sporting Clube de Goa veteran was an integral part of the Flaming Oranje’s squad last season, which did remarkably well under Oscar Barreras in the second half of last season.
Malsawmkima meanwhile joins the Tigers from Mumbai FC, where he spent the second half of last season, and formed a solid central midfield partnership with James Singh.
He will have to fill the creative shoes of N.P Pradeep in central midfield.
The duo joins the likes of Royston Dsouza, Rahul Bheke, N. Pradeep, Pradeep Mohanraj and T.P Rehenesh at the club as new recruits, while renewing the contracts of several other players who played for them in division two last season.
