Mumbai Tigers have started recruiting aggressively for next season, as they have sealed the deal for left-back Nallappan Mohanraj and utility midfielder Pradeep Mohanraj.
Goal can reveal that the duo have agreed terms on a one year contract, following Royston Dsouza and Rahul Bheke to the club.
Left-back N. Mohanraj will be looking to re-build his career and return to the International fold by doing well under Bimal Ghosh’s tutelage, after the player spent most of last season as second choice to Gurujinder Kumar at Pune FC.
He told Goal, “Yes, I have signed a one year contract with them, and I am now a Mumbai Tigers player. I had other offers as well, but I waited for Tigers, since I wanted to play under Bimal sir. Paresh Shivalkar helped me make the decision.”
Joining him at the club will be Pradeep Mohanraj, who played for Air India last season.
The player, who pre-dominantly featured on the wings, though he can also fill in as a wing-back, was one of the better players in the team, during the Airmen’s doomed I-League campaign last term.
The midfielder was even called up by Wim Koevermans to the national camp at the start of last season, and will be hoping to pick up a national cap, by excelling under Bimal Ghosh.
Nallappan Mohanraj confirmed Pradeep’s decision to sign with the Tigers, as he revealed to Goal, “Yes Pradeep has also been confirmed at Mumbai Tigers. He is a good signing and can play at several positions.”
The club has also retained Mohammed Rafi and Kali Alaudeen Nishtar, as Bimal Ghosh looks to build a side capable of giving the big-wigs a fight in the I-League next season.
