Having already completed the signing of Indian International Jewel Raja and Gabriel Fernandes, the club has now completed a deal for the former Pailan Arrows defender...
Dempo SC continued with their policy of signing younger players for next season, roping in Prathamesh Maulingker on a permanent deal, after having loaned him from Pailan Arrows last season.
The player did not get as much game-time as he had hoped, after he got injured during a game at Balewadi Stadium in Pune.
However that has not deterred the club from handing the player a one year contract, as they plan to build a young squad that could grow under the tutelage of their new coach Arthur Papas.
Confirming the deal, Maulingker told Goal, “Yes, I have signed up with Dempo SC on a one year contract.”
The capture of the defender follows close on the heels of the signing of Mohun Bagan midfielder Jewel Raja and Mumbai FC attacker Gabriel Fernandes, with a deal for Jeje Lalpekhlua said to be close to being agreed.
Dempo also have extended Godwin Franco’s stay at the club by another three years, as the club hope for some form of continuity at the club.
The futures of stalwarts like Climax Lawrence and Anthony Pereira though, are still uncertain, with the club seemingly bent on ushering out the old guard.
