Continuing their aggressive strategy during this transfer window, Mohammedan Sporting continue to complete their signings early, sealing the double capture of Salgaocar left-back Collin Abranches and ONGC midfielder Sandeep Sangha.
As Goal revealed earlier, Khanthang Paite had followed Luciano Sobrosa and Josimar Martins to the Kolkatan club.
Now further strengthening their left side, the team has signed Collin Abranches, who after a splendid season with Air India, saw game-time hard to come-by, at Salgaocar last campaign.
The left-back told Goal, “I am happy to sign with Mohammedan Sporting, they are a club with a great fanbase. Also I needed to move, since I needed more playing time.”
The defender was also unhappy with how things panned out at Salgaocar last year, and commented, “It was frustrating because you practice and do so well but dont get a chance.”
Joining him at the Kolkatan outfit will be his former Air India team-mate Sandeep Sangha, who was roped in by Mohammedan Sporting after having a stellar spell under Santosh Kashyap at ONGC last season.
The central midfielder, who can also play at centre-back, confirmed to Goal, “Yes, I have signed up with Mohammedan Sporting on a one year contract.”
Both the players can be expected to add strength and depth to the squad of the Kolkatan outfit, which is returning to the top flight after a few years in second division wilderness, and would look to make an impact in the league.
