"It's been a tough season. We had problems on and off the field. We were first unfortunately suspended from the I-League. We came back after a long break and had to deliver to save the relegation. The team however pulled off a quality performance as our unity did it for us. It's been like a long roller coaster ride," remarked the stopper from Kashmir.
However, from his personal viewpoint, it was a frustrating outing as he didn't get much playing time. Karim Bencharifa, the Mohun Bagan gaffer primarily relied on the duo of Echezona Anyichie and Aibor Khongjee to take responsibility of the central defence.
"Yeah, I didn't get much playing time in the I-League. That has been disappointing from my end. However, I appeared in many of the matches of Kolkata League and IFA Shield. So, I have got a share of first team action also," said the 29-year old.
Mehraj, however is not sure of which team he will be a part in the ensuing season, He has been in talks with a few of the clubs. "I have not decided yet. I had to leave for Kashmir after the Kolkata derby due to some domestic issues. So, I didn't have time to discuss with the officials. I have an offer from Mohammedan Sporting and I am considering that as well," Mehraj told.
The new IPL kind of football league has been introduced by the IMG-Reliance group and Mehraj has offers from there as well. However, he stressed that he will put the pen on the dotted line inside the next couple of weeks.
