United Sikkim - Mohun Bagan Preview: Both teams will look to play for pride

With the Mariners safe from relegation and USFC already out of the I-League, it will be only pride to play for when both these teams meet...

Farid, Jhingan, Anwar, Lugun;
Thupden, Ansari, Matkin, Machado;
Salau, Pablo

Nirmal, Anyichie, Aibor, Saha;
Maithani, Denson, Quinton;
Sabeeth, Odafa, Nabi

With United Sikkim being relegated from the I-League and then being hammered 6-0 by East Bengal only in their last match, the morale will be pretty low among Nathan Hall's men when they take on Mohun Bagan at home.

Meanwhile Mohun Bagan, having already saved relegation have little to play for too, but would like to continue the good work at the end of the season which helped them move away from the possible danger of dropping down.

Karim Bencherifa started his I-League campaign this season with Salgaocar FC by suffering a defeat at the hands of United Sikkim. He will be keen to change his fortunes against the north eastern side today.

United Sikkim FC:
Nathan Hall has the full team at his disposal.

Mohun Bagan: Australian striker Tolgay Ozbey and Odafa Okolie are available for the tie.

  • United Sikkim have scored the least number of goals (23) and have also conceded the most along with Air India (60) and are thus deservedly rock bottom of the table.
  • The biggest margin of defeat in this year's I-League is also something that United Sikkim hold after being thrashed 9-0 by Salgaocar FC and Prayag United 10-1.
  • Mohun Bagan (26) can confirm a tenth place finish with a win against relegated USFC.
