The Englishman saw his side frustrate title contenders Churchill Brothers who had their keeper Sandip Nandy to thank as they came away with a point.Salgaocar gave Churchill Brothers a run for their money in their I-League clash at the Duler Stadium on Wednesday. David Booth's team could have counted themselves unlucky after chances were at a premium but they couldn't put one past Churchill custodian Sandip Nandy. The coach was however happy with his team's performance in the match.
“I'm not disappointed. If someone had told me before the game that I would get a 0-0 draw against Churchill, I wouldn’t have played the game. I would have taken it," quipped the Englishman.
Booth revealed that his team setup a little differently today keeping in mind both the opposition and the injury situation at the club.
"They (Churchill Brothers) have a lot of quality. They deserve to be where they are. We changed our shape and system a little to compensate. The players worked really hard and I have no complaints. I would take a 0-0 draw against Churchill anytime who are full of quality," said the former Mahindra United coach.
"We have a lot of players missing and hence I had to change the system. It’s a result we should be happy about especially during this time of the season. Personally there are a lot of my ex-players playing for Churchill, so I hope they go on and win the league. These are players who were there with me at Mahindra United and Mumbai FC," signed off the Salgaocar gaffer.
