'Beto will be out for the next two-to-three games' - Churchill Brothers coach Mariano Dias

The Red Machine were held to a goalless stalemate against their Goan rivals which left the title race up for grabs as the league approaches its home stretch....
Churchill Brothers have been one of the consistent sides in this year's I-League. The Goans have played a pleasing brand of football and have a healthy blend of youth and experience in their ranks which sees them top the I-League table with 44 points, three ahead of rivals East Bengal. However the draw against Salgaocar on March 27, 2013 could come to haunt them should East Bengal win their tie against Prayag United this week.

"It was another chance lost to regain a five point lead. It was a tough match and both teams wanted to get the three points which were very crucial for us. Both teams missed chances," said Churchill coach Mariano Dias.

In what was a competitive game, Churchill suffered a casualty when star attacking midfielder Beto was injured as early as the 36th minute. The Brazilian was replaced by Bikramjit Singh.

"Beto will be out for the next two to three games. He had a hamstring injury. (Lamine) Tamba had an injury too. Lenny (Rodrigues) and Bikram (Singh) played well. I’m happy with their performance. Henry (Antchouet) was not at his best today. I don’t know what happened to him today," said Dias in a summation of his thoughts on his team's performance.
