Relieved after replacing Akram Moghrabi with Afghan striker Balal Arezou, the head coach warns that there is very little time to work together...
The Afghanistan national team captain Arezou, 24, has been lured in by the Mariano Dias-led side in view of Lebanese striker Akram Moghrabi's exit.
"Now that we have completed our signings, the players have to click," Dias said hopefully, while talking to Goal.com. "We hardly have any time to practice as it is obvious that it will take some time for the new players to get adjusted with the team."
He was quick to add, "They (Chhetri, Tamba and Arezou) are all experienced players so I don't think it should be much of a problem."
Having said that, the head coach also confirmed that Friday - 15 February 2013 being the last date of the Indian transfer window - Churchill Brothers will register the trio for both their I-League as well as AFC Cup campaigns.
"We have one day, until tomorrow to register the players. It will help to bring a stability in the team with so many tournaments (I-League, AFC Cup and Goa League) to play as it will be tiring with the traveling," he said.
Churchill Brothers' next match will be an away encounter to Hong Kong's Kitchee SC on 26 February, while Dias confirms that earlier reports of the Red Machines might pull out of the AFC Cup may be put to rest as they have received a positive reply towards their request to the Indian federation.
"All matches will be played as per the fixtures now as we will have most of our main players with us for our matches. We will be leaving to Hong Kong on the 23rd (February) or something," Dias revealed, ahead of their clash against Hong Kong first division club.
