WIFA suspend Dodsal FC from participation in I-League second division

Dodsal have to face the music from the local state association for failing to comply with their request on the Santosh Trophy camp…
Dodsal’s hopes of making it into the I-League next season have been dealt a huge blow on Thursday as the Western India Football Association (WIFA) have suspended the club further notice for failing to send their players for the selection trials for the Maharashtra side for the upcoming Santosh Trophy.

It must be noted that Dodsal’s name for participation in the I-League second division was put forth by WIFA itself and after having fulfilled the necessary criterion, they have been named amongst the participants. When contacted the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to opine on the suspension of Dodsal, they were in the dark of the developments and chose not to comment.

The state association had requested for six players, namely Kali Allaudin, Paresh Shivalkar, N.P.Pradeep, Mohammed Rafi, Arup Debnath and Ravindra Ghosh, to report to the camp being held at the Cooperage Stadium. However the club didn’t release the said players for the camp and neither bothered to communicate the reason for the to WIFA.

“It is the duty of the club to send their players, when called up by the State. If the players are injured or unavailable, the same should at least be conveyed to the Association. The Club will not be permitted to participate in any tournament until the Disciplinary Committee takes a decision,” said Souter Vaz, Honourable Secretary, WIFA.

"It has therefore been decided to debar the club has been barred from participating in any local/national/international leagues or tournaments & no transfer of any player will be permitted until the Disciplinary Committee takes a decision on the matter," read a statement from WIFA.
