Odafa Okolie asked to appear before the disciplinary committee – report

The Nigerian striker has been summoned by the Indian FA for his alleged role in inciting the crowd in the Kolkata derby last month…

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) have ordered Odafa Okolie to appear before its disciplinary committee on January 21 for his wrongdoing in the game against East Bengal on December 9, 2012, according to a report in The Telegraph.

The Mohun Bagan skipper has already been suspended for two matches and levied a fine of Rs.10000 for having abused the referee Vishnu Chauhan in the ill-fated Kolkata derby.

Should Odafa not turn up before the disciplinary committee, action will be taken on the former Churchill Brothers striker based on the evidence available which wouldn’t give the player an opportunity to give his side of the story.

“In case you are not able to come to the meeting or send any representative, the matter will be decided by the disciplinary committee from the documents available with us,” the AIFF general secretary, Kushal Das wrote in his letter.
