The Nigerian was in buoyant mood as he praised his team-mates for helping him score five past a hapless United Sikkim side...
Ranti Martins etched his name in the history of Prayag United as he scored five goals to help his side thrash United Sikkim 10-1 at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata in round five of the I-League.
The Nigerian isn’t new to scoring more than three goals in a game as he had famously scored six against Air India a couple of seasons back to help Dempo SC register a record 14-0 victory in Goa.
“Determination dedication and hard work helps me score goals. It’s not only scoring, but helping my team mates to achieve what we want,” said Ranti Martins.
“I am here because I want Prayag to be a top team. The coach (Eelco Schattorie) told me keep it simple and organised,” he added.
Ranti stated that he was pleased that the team came back strongly after dropping five points in two outings which eventually led to Sanjoy Sen resigning from his post.
“I am happy for the team. Hope we continue this. It’s very important that you keep going. All the ten goals were my favourite,” he mentioned.
