The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has come down heavily on 10 players of the development side for various breaches of discipline...
The guilty players were informed through letters asking them to deposit a portion of their monthly salaries with immediate effect. Three of them were fined 50% of their salaries while the others were asked to deposit 10 to 25% of their monthly payments. Alwyn George, who was part of the India senior squad during this year's Nehru Cup, was one of the players who was fined including two others who have played for India at U-22 and U-23 levels.
The fined players are: Akashdeep Singh, Bikramjit Singh, Shilton D'Silva, Prathamesh Maulingker, Siam Hangal, Alwyn George, Jayabrata Dhar, Shehnaz Singh, Ravinder Singh and Sayan Roy

The fine was duly paid by all the players with the exception of one. This particular player did not play for the Arrows when they lost 0-2 to Pune FC in the I-League at Kolkata on Friday. It is likely that this player will be sidelined till he complies with the AIFF's decision.
According to sources of The Telegraph, some of the players were fined for repeatedly turning up late for practice sessions while others were penalised for staying out of the team hostel till the wee hours of the morning. These sources also revealed that atleast one of those footballers was found in the company of a woman during an away game for the Arrows in the I-League.
"Action against these players was taken after it was recommended by our Australian coach Arthur Papas," said an official to The Telegraph. "The coach is a strict disciplinarian and would not tolerate any nonsense," the official added.
A senior AIFF official also confirmed to The Telegraph the news about the players' fines. "We have decided not to tolerate any indiscipline. Arrows are not like any other club. It's a developmental team. We take care of their stay, food and give them monthly salaries. The boys have to understand that this team is more like an academy," the official was quoted saying.
This is not the first time that Arrows players have been hauled up for breaching decorrum. There were complaints about some players last year and three of them were punished for the same. One of the goalkeepers was accused of getting into a fight with the hostel staff.
