The 26-year old Nigerian was felicitated by Prayag United soon after team practice on Tuesday.
"I had no idea that I had scored 150 goals in the I-League till I heard it from the media the day after the match. I'm really excited about reaching this milestone. I hope to score many more and help United SC do very well in the ongoing league," Ranti told the The Times of India.

Ranti arrived in India in 2004-05 and proved to be a consistent goalscorer in his extremely successful time at Dempo SC by being part of the club's five I-League title wins. Comparisons have been made with fellow Nigerian Odafa Okolie who plies his trade with Mohun Bagan. "I don't like comparisons. We are both strikers, and although we score a lot of goals, we have different qualities," said Ranti.
Martins, having been in India for a while now, offered his opinion on 'The Beautiful Game' in the country. "I feel the standard of Indian football is improving. Every season new and exciting talents are coming through. But there are still few areas to be looked into to make football big in the country. Better facilities should be provided to the players and there is a need to develop the game at the grassroots level across the country," opined the Nigerian.
We, at Goal.com, congratulate Ranti Martins on achieving this landmark of scoring 150 I-League goals and wish for all the best for the future!
