"I'm very happy with the way he (Ricketts played," said the coach. "We need players like him in our team," he added.
Following their 2-1 victory in the Goan derby over Churchill, Colaco was full of praise for his opponents.
"They (Churchill) played very well", he quipped. "They had more of the ball in the first half, but it was a bit more even in the second," he admitted.
Dempo appeared to sit deep in the second half and allowed Churchill more time on the ball. Although Mahesh Gawli and the rest of defenders were able to deal with the pressure, it wasn't a vintage Dempo performance by far.
"The problem was that Rohan (Ricketts) and Sueoka like to play a lot of one touch football. Since it is the first day of the league, it will take time for them and the team to settle," he explained.
"My substitutions worked well with Abranches and Koko coming on, especially Koko. We converted the chances we had. Three points at the start of the season is nice and I'm happy about it. But we didnt play our usual game," said Colaco.
Coming back to Ricketts, the coach mentioned that he wasn't match fit but expressed his confidence in him.
"He's got a class touch, that's the beauty about him," he said.
