East Bengal were left disappointed as they could only manage a one-all draw against arch rivals Mohun Bagan, despite their possessions dominance. The draw is a further setback to their quest for the I-League and coach Trevor Morgan admitted the difficulty that faces his side after this result..
"It(title race) has become difficult now. A lot will depend on the Dempo match. We can only hope for the best. Dempo are in driver's side and the title is theirs to lose."
He felt few decisions in the match went badly against his side. Reflecting on those, the 55 year old said-
"The decisions cost us two points. Tolgay was a yard onside for his disallowed goal and the free-kick from which Mohun Bagan scored, was taken 3 metres away from the place it should have been taken."
He,however, decided not to blame the referee. Talking about it, he said..
"It was a difficult game but he handled it decently. At the end of the day, its the linesman who makes the offside decisions. So can't really blame him."
The Englishman did not hesitate to recognize the good work done by opponent player Okolie Odafe in managing to score the goal.
"Okolie does what he does the best. It was a very good piece of work from him."
Morgan concluded by confirming that East Bengal's Gurwinder Singh has indeed aggravated his recurrent knee problem, an injury that saw him get subsituted in the early stages of the match.
